CTIA–The Wireless Association® launched a major industry-wide wireless health initiative at International CTIA WIRELESS 2009 in April that began with a powerful keynote address from Dr. Eric Topol, Director, Scripps Translational Science Institute and Chief Academic Officer, Scripps Health. His message was clear... wireless technology is revolutionizing the healthcare industry.

CTIA is proud to present another comprehensive Wireless Health program in October which includes:

Dr. Irwin Jacobs and Dr. Paul Jacobs of QUALCOMM will discuss their work in the wireless health space and the strides they have made in fostering and growing the mHealth community.

CTIA has dedicated an entire track to the exploration of wireless health: discussing the business case behind this growing industry, advances in telemedicine and body-sensory technologies.

The Wireless Health Pavilion will host some of the most innovative and creative companies developing wireless health products today. This dynamic area will also feature the Exhbits Innovations Stage with live demonstrations of these products.

CTIA has partnered with MobiHealthNews.com to produce a free seminar called "Everywhere Healthcare" to educate a broad audience on wireless health services and devices and the business models surrounding them.

CTIA-The Wireless Association® hosted the mHealth Solutions and Policy Forum 2009 in Washington, D.C. where federal government officials and policy and medical experts discussed how mobile medical technologies are a part of the healthcare solution. From remote monitoring and accessing critical health information on the go, to creating personal channels of communications between providers and patients, speakers presented real-life examples of how wireless technologies and applications are helping to improve health for millions of people, regardless of geographic location, race, age, gender or disability.
